Overview
When Asus introduced the RT-N56U Black Diamond series of dual band router, I was wondering why Asus didn’t ship the dual band version of wireless adapters to pair them with the dual band routers. With the dual band adapter, you can select the network band your network can support to work in its best. For normal work such as E-mail, printing, file sharing you can use 2.4GHz band. But for heavy duty streaming HD video or online gaming, 5GHz band is the clean band you should select which is less interference. Asus USB-N53 is the first wireless simultaneous dual band adapter to pair with RT-N56 N600 router or the latest RT-N66U N900 router.
What this product does?
There is a little change in the design of this product compared to previous products added line pattern on the surface of the adapter that can reduce the impression of a thick model.

High speed Dual band
The dual band in Asus USB-N53 works both band simultaneously, and the good thing is that with the included software AP, you can configure the adapters to let other adapters to connect to it as an internet wireless access point. If there is only one Ethernet connection in the hotel room while you require more connections to your friends, you can turn the USB adapter as the AP to let them share the internet connection.
USB extension cable
Unlike new WNDA4100 which includes a cradle and extension cable, the included extension USB cable in Asus is very useful; it’s a coiled stiff cable to let you position the adapter (the antenna) to point to where the signal comes from. Asus USB-N53 is N600 adapter but WNDA4100 is N900 – more power adapter.
The size is not small like those micro USB adapters, have a look at the picture 2. It’s not suitable for travel mate, unless you can find 5GHz hot spot network out there. This adapter is suitable for your desktop or laptop in home with dual band environment.
If your home is multi-floor building, you may consider multi-port powerline adapter. probably you experience a low signal strength in the second floor due to concrete building can attenuate the signal from the first floor. But with powerline, you use the existing electrical wiring as the transmission medium. You may consider D-Link DHP-540 or Netgear XAV5004 Powerline adapter. you can connect up to four devices to the adapter including home theater devices, computer or else.
Belkin F9L1103 N750 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter
Unlike Asus with its USB-N53 wireless dual band adapter, Belkin introduces two models of dual band wireless USB adapters: the N600 USB adapter and the newer one is the N750 USB adapter. The Belkin N600 dual band USB adapter is designed like other standard wireless USB adapter – long and looks like the first generation of flash disk memory, but the N750 version is designed with three internal antennas that can be folded for easy on the go.
The Belkin wireless N750 USB adapter can be paired to connect to new Belkin N750 DB router or Belkin N900 DB router for maximum data rate throughput.
