TL-WN822N and TL-WN722N are two of Wireless High Gain USB Adapters by TP-Link
Overview
Normally a laptop with built-in Wi-Fi adapter have better signal reception compared with the external Wi-Fi adapter such as wireless USB adapter. In some cases, a traditional Wi-Fi adapter has built-in internal antenna with Omni-directional which broadcast the signal in all directions. But with hi gain wireless USB adapter, the antenna is not internal type but the external with better gain and reception.
However, not all desktop computers are equipped with Wi-Fi adapters, except brand new computers that are now equipped with Wi-Fi adapter particularly those all-in-one computer models. If you must add a Wifi adapter, then the most practical type is wireless USB adapter. In addition to easy installation no need to open the computer casing, USB can be removed easily for troubleshooting purposes.
